MTM Environmental, LLC was awarded a contract to conduct broadcast call surveys and nest searches across 1,519 pre-determined call stations within the Black Mesa Ranger District and the Lakeside Ranger District. The objective is to document the presence of woodland raptors—specifically Northern Goshawks—as well as all other raptor and owl species encountered. Data collected will provide USFS occupancy, habitat, and nest data for raptor species utilizing areas planned for timber harvest within the Districts, and ultimately aid in the protection and management of these species.
