Project Description

Kentucky Projects

Our staff completed a project on a rolling tract in Kentucky located within close proximity of the Nolin River, in the Mammoth Cave Biosphere Region. This property is comprised of Upland Forests (including mixed oak and associates, xeric oaks and associates, and pine forests), mining reclamation areas-pine forest, and open areas. During the fieldwork conducted on this property, a diverse variety of bird species were observed including blue jays, American crows, northern cardinals, tufted titmouse, pileated woodpeckers, red-bellied woodpeckers, white-breasted nuthatches, Carolina wrens, ruby-crowned kinglets, and dark-eyed juncos. Various mammals were also observed, including eastern gray squirrels, and white-tailed deer, along with signs of raccoons and coyotes.
